Organized by the Royal Horticultural Society it dates back to the mid-19th century and takes place in the grounds of The Royal Hospital (near Sloane Square) with a huge display of plants and a multitude of gardening accessories and tools. Among the offerings are new plant launches, more than 20 show gardens predicting coming trends and flower arranging demonstrations. Awards are also given for categories such as Best Chic Garden and Best City Garden. Stay as long as you like and the evening’s free.

Leaving London, your finals destination will be at a hotel in the north Cotswold but not before a visit to see the spectacular Capability Brown landscape at Blenheim Palace, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. We’ll choose one that’s serving tea and cakes! Overnight in the Chipping Campden/Broadway area for the next 2 nights.
Monday 28th May
Today’s focus will sharpen on two sensational gardens linked by a short and pleasant walk, firstly at Hidcote Manor one of England’s great gardens where you’ll discover their famous ‘garden rooms’, each possessing its own special theme and character.
